Today on The Ave Podcast, we celebrate the life of Toronto & Canadian basketball legend Greg Francis who passed away two plus weeks ago. I'm joined by friends & teammates of Greg as we discuss his basketball impact on the high school scene for Oakwood Collegiate, as well as Fairfield University; plus we break down his importance off the court, and the lives he impacted; and discuss what his legacy means going forward.

Welcome to “Memory Lane” where at least once a month, I will share short clips and previous full episodes from the South Shore Ave Catalogue. Reminiscing from some of my favorite moments in SSA history. Today I’m going to share the full episode of “Paying For Playing” (originally released on March 20, 2019), where in light of the news of the Student-Athlete Equity Act was being presented, we discuss the pay-for-play scenario regarding the NCAA & its student-athletes. We also discussed if Zion Williamson (then fresh off his injury at Duke due to his shoe explosion vs. North Carolina) should have packed his season up before the NCAA Tournament; and a lot more than this. Since the release of this episode, the Name, Image, & Likeness Deal has helped to change the landscape for student-athletes across NCAA major sports. So in the spirit of the March Madness tournament, we dust off this entertaining classic episode, and take you back down Memory Lane. - Cal Cee
